I have worked as a python developer in the medical sector for over 5 years, during which I’ve been involved with many projects related to medical image processing, automated analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), 3D mesh generation and data visualization. I was also involved with re-structuring and testing code for obtaining FDA approval for the code to be used as a medical device. The code that I helped develop has effectively been used to treat thousands of cardiac patients around the world.

To me, creating structured and efficient code that does what it needs to do is a thing of beauty. I am very passionate about finding creative ways to solve problems and I am looking forward to helping you with yours!

Cardiovascular Predictive Modelling

During my 5 years at the MedTech company FEops, I have helped them build predictive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models that have helped thousands of heart patients select the right structural heart implant.

MRI Artifact Reduction Investigation

An investigation of MRI artifact formation around biliary stents and strategies to filter them out through image processing. In colaboration with the Amsterdam Medical Center (AMC).

Low-field MRI Angiography

For my masters thesis I worked on determining the feasibility of using a low-field MRI (0.2T) for generating near-realtime angiography imaging for use during interventions without the use of contrast agent.

The project involved designing and testing the MRI pulse sequences, and post-processing of the images.

Man-overboard tracking system

Project for designing a man-overboard tracking system using a challenging dataset of constantly moving video and frequent occlusion of the target by waves.

Face Tracking Schoolbus

This was a proof of concept project I implemented face tracking with a combination of openCV and convolutional neural networks. The goal was to investigate if it is possible to automatically register which student enters the bus.

I have obtained my masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Twente (NL). My focus during my master has been on creating algorithms for diagnostics and medical image processing. After graduating from university I completed additional courses in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning, to stay up to date with the latest developments.
